Star Wars: The Great Jedi Purge

The opening crawl and summary for our first game...

STAR WARS:
The Great Jedi Purge

It has been one year since the end of the CLONE WARS. Chancellor Palpatine has declared himself the Emperor and reformed the Galactic Republic into a new Empire.

Issuing ORDER 66, Emperor Palpatine has destroyed the Jedi Order. Once the protectors of the Republic, they now flee from those that they once protected

But all is not lost. On the pacifist planet of CAMAAS, a small band of Jedi stay hidden from the Empire, hoping to recover and strike back against the Sith...

Nik Var and Kayleia have both found the academy after many months of searching. They have been on Caamas for a week now, helping Master Florin Wynn and continuing their Jedi training. They are meeting with two Force Sensitives that may have Jedi training in an abandoned warehouse.
Raith and Cressada have been mysteriously drawn to a large abandoned warehouse on the south end of Iklas city. For weeks they have been plagued by dreams and visions. Their respective ships have been taking on jobs from a mysterious benefactor on Caamas, who has now requested to see them in order to deliver the business proposition of a lifetime.

They are greeted by the Jedi, who recruit them to join their new Academy. They are paid handsomely for this, a strange thing considering that these Jedi are supposed to be refugees..

Master Wynn set up his academy in the wake of Order 66. He was fighting in the Outer Rim when he was betrayed by the clones. He was shot and left for dead, but rescued by one of the doctors in the local militia. As a result, Florin Wynn is a scarred and weathered. He limps along with a noisy, malfunctioning cybernetic leg.

You studied in the basement of the academy, an abandoned warehouse in the industrial district. Here the academy's few students train with sticks, while a rusty looking medical droid tends to new arrivals.

A few days later the group was sent to pay a 'visit' to Yarba The Hutt. The fledgling gangster was unwisely attempting to blackmail the Jedi upon discovering their training facility.

After an altercation at Yarba's Bobo Cantina involving drinking games, Weequay and other frisky business, Raist managed to retrieve an access card that allowed him to pass into the upper levels of Yarba's fortress.

Within, they were greeted by an armed party of Weequay led by a human enforcer armed with a repeating blaster and clad in heavy armor. Seeking to even the odds, Cresada blasted out the lights using the force, blinding the Weequay. Yarba's thugs decided to retreat to the throne room.

With Nik and Cresada leading the way with their alien senses, everyone found themselves in the throneroom of Yarba the Hutt. He was rather amicable to bargains, and agreed to leave the Jedi alone. However, the Hutt's control was weaker than expected, and the human enforcer, revealed to be a bounty hunter, decided to take out the Jedi for his own reasons.

The ensuing fight was interrupted by a cascade of commlink alarms. Nik answered a commlink pro-offered by Yarba, Master Wynn had called, explaining that the Jedi were under attack by the Empire, and that the planet was being destroyed. He was cut off by a sinister voice explaining that he would come after 'them' next. His point was punctuated by a turbolaster blast that suddenly vaporized a pack of Weequay.

Yarba's thugs broke and ran, along with the rest of the heroes. Cresada stayed behind briefly with the Hutt, and made her escape to the north side of the fortress, where she was joined by Dax and Yarba's protocol droid. Nik, Raist and Kayleia fled to the south side, where they were met by Raist's companion, the former Imperial Senator of Bothawui, Rutger Hower.

Outside, the Empire's invasion was most apparent. Stormtroopers walked in patrols along the streets, blasting innocent Caamasi women and children. V-Wing Fighters screamed through the air, harrassing fleeing transports. The Caamasi were not being punished. They were being exterminated...
